Little Erika

Little Ninja, originally uploaded by theshortcake.

Going to play around with photography yet again. Just because I suck, doesn’t mean I can’t get better. Will post them on Flickr.

I’m not a good photographer. I’m just good at editing ugly pictures I take.

For real.

If I was a Bunny

I was introduced to Alex Noriega by the newsletters I receive from Gelaskins from the last purchase I made. I love his work and his sense of humor. His photographs and Illustrations are impressive.

The act of jubilant self-expression through dancing has long been an
integral part of World of Warcraft’s social interactions. Now it’s been
taken to a whole new level with the new Dance Battle system, coming to the game in an upcoming content patch.

(World of Warcraft)

That’s a pretty cool soon-to-be integrated system in an online game. I’ve never heard it before so I think that’s pretty original of WOW. I don’t play it myself because I chose not to let it take over my life right now. I know it will eat me like a monster.

Thank you Carlo SR for the link.

BTW, before y’all get excited. Happy April Fool’s Day.

Vancouver is the world’s best place to live, a survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has found.

This is where Pao and I want to live one day.

Peekaru

29Mar09

This made me smile. Peekaru is a fleece vest for parents that use baby carriers. This is great for parents who take their babies in the subway, it can keep them warm together. It’s a great design, reminds me of kangaroo pouches. It comes in black, blue, gray, green, and lavander.

Tea Bag Coffin

29Mar09

I’m so tired, had a long day. But I am trying to post as much as possible so here we go.

Where Do tea bags go to die?. Usually squashed on the side of the saucer next to the cup, or if you have a little less decorum the table will probably be just fine. Jonas Trampedach has been observing the behaviour of tea drinkers and has evidently been learning a lot. Consequently he has developed a solution to the bag dilemma that is as simple as it is ingenious. With the ‘Tea bag Coffin’, the drinker can tidily bury the bag under the cup and out of the way. RIP.

~ Jonas Trampedach (Designer)

What do you guys think of this? Art or Design?

I don’t think it’s a great  solution as a product design. But I love it as an art concept – relating emotion to tea drinking. Also, isn’t it strange that he wrote about his design in third person?

Dee is tired and will go to sleep now. She’s had a long day. (lol)

Twitter

28Mar09

When I made my twitter account last year, I didn’t really enjoy it much because I really didn’t think that anything I can say would be important. But since wordpress recently added the Twitter widget, I decided to give it another try. And I never realized this, but everyone twitters! The US President twits, so does P.Diddy, Ellen DeGeneres, Martha Stewart, Britney Spears, etc! Oh my, everyone’s in it, I feel less important. Great!

Sigh, here we go.

The Pomegranate Phone is a smart phone that can multitask. It does more than phone calls, emails, texting, internet browsing, GPS, play music, and games. It is also a projector, global voice translator, shaver, coffee brewer, and a harmonica.

Yes, I did say shaver, coffee brewer, and harmonica. Is this for real? Go check it out at PomegranatePhone.com.

I think Nova Scotia did a great job on this.

Thanks Beej for the link!
